Wellsoft is a knitted 100% polyester microfibre fabric — very fine polyester threads knitted into a short, dense pile, giving it a soft, plush feel and the ability to hold warmth. This blanket's entire outer fabric is genuine Wellsoft, finished with a waffle pattern — a grid of raised square bumps — rather than a flat plush or ribbed-line finish. This waffle, or "embossed," finish is a recognised style in plush home textiles.

This blanket is confirmed at 380 GSM (grams per square metre, a standard measure of fabric weight and thickness) — a genuinely substantial figure for a plush throw. Its knitted Wellsoft pile traps a layer of air within the fibres, which is what makes it feel warm without feeling heavy. At 200 × 220cm, it's confirmed to properly fit double beds measuring 140×190cm up to 160×200cm — not just labelled "double" without the numbers to back it up.

Compared with our Ribbed Wellsoft Blanket (140 × 190cm, 1.6kg, built for the sofa with a linear ribbed texture), this blanket is bigger, heavier, and genuinely sized for a double bed, with a grid-embossed waffle texture instead. Neither is "better" — they're built for different jobs. If you'd rather use this one as a large sofa throw, it works well for that too, though it's built first and foremost as a bed covering.

Layered over a double bed, this waffle throw adds warmth and texture without replacing your main duvet, and works well folded across the foot of the bed or draped to one side. Beige and Powder suit a soft, warm bedroom palette alongside wood toned furniture, while Anthracite gives a more contemporary bedroom a grounding, deeper tone. Care Instructions
